With its south eastern position in Spain, the resort of Alicante benefits from one of the warmest climates in Europe. Daytime temperatures rarely drop below 10 degrees Celsius while a frost is indeed an unlikely occurrence even in high winter. During peak holidaying season the temperatures can reach the high thirties but an almost constant sea breeze takes the edge off of the heat ever so slightly.
Realistically speaking, the weather is good enough for some sunbathing all the way from May through to October. The humidity is moderate to high although if you are used to the hot English days that we occasionally benefit from then you will cope just fine with this.
The hours of daylight in the winter fall to just six but in July you will benefit from up to twelve hours of dazzling sunshine. These long sunny days boost the sea temperature and it feels more than pleasant through the months of July, August and September for all you water sport enthusiasts.
Thanks to the hills and mountains that lie to the North, the area remains in a sort of microclimate with the number of rainy days as low as 20 per year so outdoor activities can be enjoyed throughout the winter.
